Indian Railways reported revenue of Rs 12,159.35 crore from ticket sales between September 1 and October 31, 2024, a period marked by major festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, and Diwali. During this time, 143.71 crore passengers traveled by rail, showcasing a significant increase in traffic. Central zone witnessed highest passenger footfall, followed by Western and Eastern zones.
