Assam police successfully conducted two major anti-drug operations on November 28, 2024, targeting drug trafficking networks in state. first raid, led by Special Operations Group (SOG) in collaboration with Chandmari Police Station, uncovered a drug hideout in Noonmati. Two individuals, Mintu Rahman (28) and Md Dhon Ali (41), were apprehended. raid yielded 68 grams of heroin, 550 empty vials, cash amounting to ₹61,500, and three vehicles, including a car fitted with a red siren.
In Dhubri’s Bisondai area, second operation led to arrest of drug peddler Azimul Haque, along with two containers of brown sugar and a bike. One accomplice managed to flee.
These operations underline state’s ongoing commitment to curbing drug trafficking and bringing offenders to justice.
